When Mr. Daisuke Mori, Sales and Marketing Director of Konica Minolta Business Solutions Asia, took to the stage at the Konica Minolta's exhibition booth during the Print Technology 2012 Exhibition held bi-yearly at the Putra World Trade Centre, he captured the attention of his esteemed guests and business partners with one important factor in the printing industry today. Business speed.
Reverberating this year's theme 'It's All About Business Speed', Mr. Daisuke Mori continued to add "With innovations turning around so rapidly in the printing world, we are not just talking about the speed of production printers. Speed is important in every aspect in the printing business in order to achieve faster business growth'.
The business speed theme was evidently clear throughout Konica Minolta Business Solutions (M) Sdn Bhd (KMBS) exhibition booth that looked ultra-modern. The symbolic images of speeding bullet-trains and fast cars attracted curious on-lookers and potential customers.
A giant wall poster proclaiming Konica Minolta's commitment to stay ahead with technologies to meet speedy demands and to remain at the forefront to provide rapid printing solutions was also the focal point of the day.
In the morning of the first day of the four day exhibition, The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Datuk Wira Abu Seman Yusop and his entourage visited the spectacular speed-concept booth of Konica Minolta. During his visit, the distinguished Deputy Minister was impressed with the printing prowess of the top-end bizhub PRESS C8000 and marvelled at what Sales Manager Production Printing Division Mr. Kelvin Yeoh had to say about the rapid efficiency of the printer.
Finally the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs was promptly presented with a token of appreciation for gracing the booth. As the exhibition hall began to pack with visitors on a lookout for printing innovations, Konica Minolta's PP solution specialists were all stationed and prepared to demonstrate their star production printers they had to offer.
Straddling all sides of the square-size booth were four of Konica Minolta's current top sellers. The four on full display, complete with finisher enhancements, were (1) the high-value colour management powerhouse bizhub PRESS C8000 , (2) The cost effective web2flows sensation bizhub PRESS C7000, (3) The vibrant and intense colour wonder bizhub PRESS C6000 and (4) the evolution of on-demand B&W production phenomenon bizhub 1200.
Each production printer contributes to the theme of business speed with express printing process, quick solution templates, rapid quality printing and swift performance tracing all for a faster business success.
This year also saw the introduction of Konica Minolta's very own unique web-to-print solution called Web2Flows. The outstanding features of Web2Flows are its ability to receive and process real-time web submissions of the users' own artwork in native ai/pdf files. This is a stark contrast from the standard web-to-print solution where the users can only submit limited design templates.
Furthermore withWeb2Flows, administrators will also be able to trace KPI (Key Performance Index) of employees to ensure more job orders are being carried out. These advanced features were concisely demonstrated by Web2Flows solution specialists with real-time job processes via a walk-through tunnel.
The tunnel, comprised of three different rooms representing the users, the provider and the administrator, was laid out to lead potential customers on a step-by-step demonstration of why Web2Flows is the current trend in printing business today. Upon completion of the walk-through, visitors were introduced to Kinkoprint, an actual provider stationed within the booth to offer first-hand testimony of the effectiveness of Web2Flows.
The other attraction at the booth is the DRUPA 2012 Showcase. Impressive and elaborately printed materials once exhibited at the DRUPA 2012 exhibition in Germany were also on display. Visitors to the booth were able to view and have a 'touch and feel' experience of the exhibited materials lined-up on a two-tier shelf. However the exhibition was not all about business but also a show of appreciation to those who have supported KMBS by investing in bizhub Production printers.
An Award Ceremony was conducted with KMBS's General Manager Mr. Tony Tang presenting The Production Printing Awards to seven top purchasers of the bizhub PRESS series. Each recipient of the award was also given two all-expenses paid trade-show trip as an incentive for their continuing support. One of the recipient Mr. Ijay Teh of Xprint Sdn Bhd said during his acceptance speech: "With Konica Minolta's efficient production printers and reliable service support, it further motivates me to invest more with Konica Minolta"
By the end of the four day exhibition at PWTC, an astonishing record of 16 units of bizhub production printers were sold. Out of the total, three were the high-end bizhub PRESS C8000. This is possibly one of the better results in terms of sales figures during such exhibitions. With such speedy results, the theme 'It's All About Business Speed' couldn't be more apt even for Konica Minolta Business Solutions (M) Sdn Bhd.
